Iced Tea

iced tea

Something that absolutely screams summer for me is a glass of nice, cold, refreshing iced tea. It’s so simple to make it and keep a container of it in the fridge for those hot days. Can’t stand using the powdered stuff, as I don’t want all those chemicals in my body. Just lovely, sweet iced tea.

It really could not be any easier:

  • 1 cup tea
  • 1 tablespoon lemon or lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon sugar/honey/agave syrup (or sweetener of choice)

Serve over ice and slices of lemon or lime. If you like it more tart, increase the lemon or lime juice and decrease the sweetener. if you like it sweeter, increase the sweetener. The portions listed above mimic the flavour of commercial iced teas.

This can be varied by using different teas, and using different fruit juices or mint. Spearmint and lime make a nice combination, I find.

Any suggestions or preferences?
